"There is never a reason to tell a client they cannot have what they want." - Tony Cooper
Tony began his career as a photographer for his high school yearbook in 1975. Tony drew inspiration from his father, who photographed every major milestone in his children's lives, and catalogued those images for later use, often in slideshows for family. He also dabbled in portrait photography with classmates and friends, and was considered by his siblings as the brother they rarely saw because he was always in the darkroom. Not long after graduation from high school, Tony learned more about work ethics and continued his photography abroad.
Tony took on his sister's wedding in 1982. It was there that he realized how much he enjoyed the wedding environment, and using his photography skills to capture an emotional moment in time. Shortly thereafter, Tony accepted his first professional assignment, taking wedding photos for a neighbor and continued from there to a career in wedding photography.
Tony married Diana in 1994, and she provided the catalyst to continue and expand his photography to include portraiture and other aspects of photography not yet explored. Starting TLC Photography in the basement of their Shepherdstown home, Tony and Diana knew within a year or so that it was going to be necessary to move into a larger facility to handle the large amount of work that was coming into TLC.
Since then, Tony has taught Studio Photography to juniors and seniors at Shepherd University, taught seminars in local high schools and to other business leaders. Tony has also remained active with several photography communities, expanding his knowledge in both photography and digital imagery.
Her inspiration was derived from grandfather Howard who spent many hours behind the camera. With a keen desire for perfection in her images, Diana has spent many hours observing, learning and practicing with the camera and in Photoshop, and now excels in retouching, restoration, and image and color management.
Diana, also a part owner in TLC Photography, has considerable experience in many aspects of hardware and software that aids her in the job she performs. With a rich history of customer service, Diana's approach to customers is that everything is done to make the customer happy.
Jeff brings a great deal of sports knowledge to TLC Photography, and provides a considerable amount of the sports photography for the TLCSports.Net division. A lifelong resident of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Jeff knows many key people in the sports community in our area and has photographed literally thousands of athletes at several levels.
