January 17:Learn To Use Your Camera (and then some!)
You love your fancy new camera. Now if you just knew
what all of those bells and whistles really did! This is
THE opportunity to find out, and learn even more than you
thought was possible from that little box with a lens attached. This workshop
runs from 6-8pm and includes:
- An overview of the icons, menus and dials on digital
cameras.
- Understanding how to use new functionality of your
camera.
- A classroom full of tips and tricks, that are built
right into your camera!
- A photography session to try out some of the features
you didn't even know existed until you saw them here!
- Discovering the latest features and enhancements for
your camera.
- OPTIONAL: Live, one-on-one mentoring with Tony about
YOUR camera or your special needs in photography.
January 24: Posing Your Subject (with a LIVE model!)
People do NOT know where to stand and what to do when you
point the camera at them... so tell them. Watch Tony
interact with his model, using some very basic instructions to
get the pose and mood he wants for the best image. Runs
from 6-8pm.
- Explore better poses for props and non-prop situations.
- Interact with your subject as if they were your friend.
- Learn how to flatter the subject's face, body, or even
the prop!
- Find your best "stand here" position and the subject's
best "go there" position for a better flow during your photo
shoots.
- OPTIONAL: Get personal mentoring from Tony to shoot any
subject or model that you bring with you... or use the model
from the class!
January 31: Lighting Your Subject (constant demonstrations)
You don't have to have professional lighting equipment to
take advantage of some great lighting opportunities. You
just need a little ingenuity, a little common sense, and this
workshop. Runs from 6-9pm.
- Learn some interesting and useful properties of light
and how to harness it for your purposes
- Grab light from the most interesting places, and apply
them to your subject easily with items found around your
house.
- Get a better understanding of the kinds of tools and
tricks that pro photographers use to mold light and bend it
the way they want.
- Practice with other class participants and make some new
friends!
February 7: Digital Image Management (you NEED this)
We know what you're thinking - B.O.R.I.N.G! But you'd
be surprised at how many times we hear "well, my hard drive
crashed and all my pictures were on it," or "I took a lot of
pictures on our last vacation, but now I can't find them."
Runs from 6-9pm.
- Learn a simple technique for managing your cards that
ensures your images are always safe.
- Set up your computer to be a virtual photo vault that
never loses a picture.
- Protect your precious images with one of the many
services that make certain that all your memories remain
intact for generations
